On the morning of April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold set out to destroy their school, and kill as many people as they could. Eric wore black BDUs and a white shirt with the words, “Natural Selection” on the front. He wore his black duster which he took off outside a few minutes after he began shooting, and a black glove on his right hand with the fingers cut off. Dylan wore black BDUs and a black shirt with the word, “Wrath” in red lettering on the front. He wore his black leather duster which he took off in the library, and a black glove on his left hand with the fingers cut off. Dylan also wore his usual Soviet pin on his boot. They both wore black combat boots, bandaleros and various green, beige and black canvas ammo pouches.
They placed the barrels of their shotguns inside the cargo pockets of their BDUs in order to help conceal them under their coats. They also stored their crickets (CO2 Cartrige bombs) inside of their cargo pockets.
Contrary to initial statements made by the media, they were not wearing full body armor, nor were they wearing bullet proof vests.
There has been speculation as to whether masks were worn. Multiple eyewitnesses say they saw at least one shooter wearing a mask, close-up. There is an evidence photograph below that shows what appears to be a green balaclava (ski mask) and two large black gloves next to Eric’s coat laying on the ground. It’s likely that these items were found inside the pocket of Eric’s coat.
Eric Harris’ Duster With Mask And Gloves:

Did you know?
Eric took off his coat outside within the first minutes of the shooting but Dylan waited a long time until they reached the library on the second floor to take his coat off.
Also, while Dylan sported a leather duster, Eric’s was made of cotton.
